From April 22 to 26 and with a record number of 83,498 visitors, the Expomin 2025 international exhibition and congress concluded with the presence of high authorities of the country, senior executives of mining companies, more than 1,000 exhibiting companies, and a high number of visitors that far exceeded the projected visits and put into debate the challenges of mining in Chile and the world. In her assessment, the Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, highlighted the historic nature of the event: “We have had a large participation, the most massive in all the editions of the fair. According to the data provided by the organization, during these days we have received 83,498 visits, so we are far exceeding the initial goal we had set for ourselves”. The Secretary of State emphasized that this milestone not only demonstrates the strength of Expomin, but also the growing international interest in national and regional mining. “It is not only about the convening power of the exhibition, but also about the interest that national and Latin American mining generates around the world,” she said. This year, Expomin 2025 opened its doors to the community with the Citizen Day, an unprecedented initiative that allowed families to get closer to the world and heart of mining. During the day, more than 4,000 people came to enjoy cultural and educational activities such as the Vibra Clásica orchestra, dance to the rhythm of the beloved character Mi Perro Chocolo, and were delighted with the two Storytelling sessions. Minister Williams celebrated the opening of the industry to the public, highlighting the value of these meeting spaces: “It is very valuable that mining is open to the public and that Chileans can learn about the contribution made by the industry in its true dimension. We had a day with children, with families, and in general there was a very educational spirit in the visits to the various stands”, he concluded.
