Expomin 2025, the largest mining event in Latin America, continues working at full speed for a new version and with an important confirmation: Finland will be the special guest country. Next year’s international mining fair and congress will once again be held at Espacio Riesco and promises to be abenchmark for the industry worldwide, highlighting technological innovations and sustainable practices that are transforming mining.

Expomin’s executive director, Francisco Sotomayor, celebrated this agreement and underscored the relevance of the collaboration with Finland in raising the standard of the mining industry. “Finland’s presence at Expomin 2025 is an extraordinary opportunity for our fair and for the region. We are talking about a country that has been able to integrate technology and sustainability into its mining DNA, and its participation as a special guest is a reflection of the values and the path we want for the mining of the future,” said Sotomayor.

“We want our visitors to learn first-hand how Finland has managed to balance innovation with environmental commitment. We are excited to welcome renowned Finnish companies and offer a space where they can share their experience and knowledge with the region and the world. Undoubtedly, their presence will greatly enrich this edition of the fair”, added the CEO of GL events Chile, organizer of the fair together with Fisa.

The choice of Finland, Sotomayor pointed out, is not accidental. The country will bring leading companies in the mining field, specialists for the International Congress, will contribute with cultural events and will contribute its knowledge in the educational area, generating links with young professionals in the industry. “This agreement allows us to give the importance it deserves to the educational aspect, which will be one of the great pillars of the next Expomin,” he said.
In addition, Sotomayor expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of strengthening collaboration between the two countries. “Expomin 2025 will be a bridge that will connect Finland’s innovations with the needs of our region. We are proud to be the scenario where alliances will be generated and knowledge will be shared that can transform the mining landscape in a sustainable and responsible way,” commented the executive.
Finland’s participation not only includes private companies, but also research institutions and government, in a sign of the synergy between the public and private sectors that has characterized the Finnish mining model. This, says Sotomayor, is one of the most interesting elements of Finland’s participation in the fair. “We are not only presenting technology, we are highlighting a holistic approach where collaboration enables sustainable results. This is something we can all learn from.”

With Finland as a special guest, Expomin 2025 is shaping up to be an event of international scope, where innovation and sustainability will be the protagonists.
