In the framework of Expomin 2025, to be held from April 22 to 25 at Espacio Riesco, Finland – guest of honor at this edition – presents its program of activities within the exhibition, under the title “Finland Mining Tech Summit: Innovation and Sustainability”. The Finnish program, to be held on April 23, will offer lectures, divided into 3 rooms in the main building of Espacio Riesco, on level -1, plus the cultural exhibition “Nací Niña” which was successfully presented at the Baquedano Metro station. The seminar will include a technical agenda of 33 talks, distributed in three parallel rooms: Aurora, Sisu and Suomi. Each hall will represent characteristics and part of the identity of Finnish culture: Aurora: Inspired by the Northern Lights, symbol of Finland and a bright future for mining. Sisu: Based on the Finnish concept of resilience, innovation and determination. Suomi: Finnish for Finland. The presentations to be held in these halls will address a wide range of topics, from energy efficiency, process digitalization and electromobility, to tailings management solutions, circular economy and climate change mitigation. María de los Ángeles Troncoso, commercial manager of Expomin 2025, highlights the schedule of activities carried out by the guest country, assuring that “Finland’s willingness has been there from day one, and this program that includes various activities is a clear demonstration of the seriousness and commitment they have shown as guests at Expomin 2025. It is a program that allows us to explore, dialogue and learn about different issues and challenges facing mining in terms of new technologies and sustainability”. In the Aurora Hall, several companies will present innovations in water and energy saving and mining adaptation to climate change. Also on display will be technologies for real-time monitoring, remediation of contaminated sites and recycling of coatings, all aimed at promoting more sustainable mining. On the other hand, the Sisu Room will focus on process optimization. There, some companies will share advances in material transport and automated loading of explosives. In addition, industrial water treatment solutions and technologies for high-performance mobile equipment will be included. The Suomi Room will focus on digital innovation, energy and connectivity. Here companies will be part addressing topics such as connected mining, private networks for logistics management and meteorology applied to the sector. From the Finnish delegation they highlight the presence of relevant companies that will be part of their program, in order to address the different challenges of the mining sector, mentioning that these “will present various topics of interest to the mining market, we have Kemira, Valmet, Elmery, Roxia, Kumera, Geopyora, IMA, represented by Nicolaides, which offer solutions for mining processing, either integral or partial, incorporating automation and digitization for a more efficient and safe operation”. They also added that “among the companies that offer solutions for operations with a lot of dust in suspension, we have companies such as Dynaset, represented by Nordich, Kopar and Vaisala, a world reference in measurement equipment, represented by Metcom. For tailings we have Watermaster, represented by Freemaq and Lamor, which offer innovative and efficient solutions”. Regarding the rest of the companies that will be part of this program, there will be Robit, represented by FS Mining, a reference in drilling rigs, as well as Normet, a provider of solutions for subway mining. In terms of sustainability, METSO will participate with the first mill liner recycling plant in LATAM, and also Lamor as a strategic partner that accompanies the client throughout the process, whether it is remediation or comprehensive solutions. Mining 4.0 requires efficient data communication solutions and, therefore, Nokia, a world leader with its private networks, will be present. In addition, Ecomond, a company that manages assets in the field and logistics in real time, will also be present. AFRY, a world-renowned engineering consulting firm, will also be present, putting all its experience and knowledge at the disposal of the mining market by presenting relevant topics in the various processes of the industry. Also exhibiting will be companies such as Wartsila, a global provider of energy solutions, Power Quality, which like Oilon, represented by Termomin, can contribute with energy efficiency solutions.
