For five days, the world mining center gathered at Expomin 2025. The exhibition and international congress was attended by high authorities of the country, senior executives of mining companies, more than 1,000 exhibiting companies, and a high number of visitors that far exceeded the projected visits and put the challenges of mining in Chile and the world in the debate. In this context, the Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, made a positive assessment of the culmination of its XVIII version and highlighted the great display that took place in Espacio Riesco, with more than 120,000 m2 of exhibition space. In her assessment of the exhibition, which took place between April 22 and 26, the Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, emphasized that “we have had a large attendance, the most massive in all the editions of the fair. According to the data provided by the organization, during these days we have received 83,498 visits, so we are far exceeding the initial goal we had set ourselves. The Secretary of State emphasized that “it is not only the convening power of the exhibition, but also the interest that national and Latin American mining generates worldwide”. The executive director of Expomin, Francisco Sotomayor, said that in the XVIII edition of Expomin “we have had the participation of 1,372 exhibiting companies, of which 490 are international from 35 countries. And we have had the visit of more than 8 thousand delegates from different countries”. The executive president of Anglo American and president of the Expomin International Congress, Patricio Hidalgo, said that “it has been a tremendously positive week. I am convinced that thanks to the participation of various sectors, Expomin has been consolidated as the most important mining platform in Latin America. Regarding the Congress, he highlighted that “we have seen very high level panels, with gender parity, with the participation of international speakers who, with their experiences and visions, have challenged us to think differently and to visualize global trends. The presence of young people and entrepreneurs from different sectors has been especially inspiring, projecting the future of this industry”. Hidalgo also thanked all the teams that “worked from different sides, whose participation has been key to making this Expomin the best fair of its kind. I am convinced that with this meeting we are contributing to make our industry a reference for Latin America and the world”. Citizen’s Day Expomin 2025 culminated this Saturday with the opening to the community, where families were able to learn about aspects of the heart of mining. During the day, 1,942 people visited the fair, and the minister reaffirmed the seal that the fair projected in this version: “It is very valuable that mining is open to the public and that Chileans can learn about the contribution made by the industry in its true dimension. We had a day with children, with families, and in general there was a very educational spirit in the visits to the various stands”.
